Drake’s ‘ICEMAN’ Claims Second Week at No. 1 on Billboard 200, LE SSERAFIM Debuts in Top 10

Drake’s latest album, ICEMAN, has solidified its dominance on the Billboard 200 chart, securing the coveted No. 1 position for a second consecutive week. The album garnered 225,000 equivalent album units in the United States during the tracking week ending May 28, as reported by Luminate. While this represents a 52% decrease from its debut week, ICEMAN‘s sustained popularity underscores Drake’s enduring influence in the music industry.

This marks a significant achievement for the artist, who has been on a historic run. Just the previous week, Drake achieved an unprecedented feat by occupying the top three positions on the Billboard 200 simultaneously with three of his projects: ICEMAN, HABIBTI, and MAID OF HONOUR. In the current chart, HABIBTI has descended to No. 7 with 53,000 units (a 53% decline), and MAID OF HONOUR has moved to No. 8 with 42,000 units (a 62% decrease). These shifts highlight the intense competition and dynamic nature of album consumption in the digital age.

The Billboard 200 chart, a cornerstone of music industry tracking, ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on a multi-metric consumption model. This model encompasses album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA), and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each equivalent album unit is calculated as one album sale, or ten individual tracks sold from an album, or 2,500 ad-supported or 1,000 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated from an album’s tracks. The chart dated June 6, 2026, will be published in its entirety on Billboard.com on June 2, offering a comprehensive look at the week’s top-performing albums. A breakdown of ICEMAN‘s 225,000 equivalent album units reveals the dominant role of streaming in its success. Streaming equivalent album units accounted for 223,000 units, a 50% decrease from the previous week, translating to approximately 228.45 million on-demand official streams of the album’s tracks. This performance also secures ICEMAN‘s second week at the pinnacle of the Top Streaming Albums chart. Physical album sales contributed 1,000 units, a substantial 90% drop, while track equivalent album units comprised 1,000 units, down 59%. This disparity in unit contribution from physical sales versus streaming further emphasizes the current landscape of music consumption, where digital access and convenience often drive chart performance.

Drake’s career trajectory on the Billboard 200 is nothing short of remarkable. ICEMAN represents his sixth album to top the chart for multiple weeks. This places him in elite company, tied with Taylor Swift for the most Billboard 200 No. 1 albums among solo artists, with a total of 15 chart-topping LPs. This sustained success speaks to Drake’s ability to consistently connect with a broad audience and maintain relevance across multiple album cycles.

A Shifting Top 10 Landscape

Beyond Drake’s continued reign, the rest of the top five on the latest Billboard 200 comprises a strong showing of former chart-toppers. Ella Langley’s Dandelion has seen a resurgence, climbing from No. 5 to No. 2 with 93,000 equivalent album units, a 5% increase. Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide follows, moving up one spot to No. 3 with 85,000 units, a 16% decrease. Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem also demonstrates resilience, ascending from No. 6 to No. 4 with 80,000 units, a modest 6% decline. Rounding out the top five is the timeless classic, Michael Jackson’s Thriller, which climbs from No. 7 to No. 5 with 64,000 units, notably seeing a 3% increase in consumption.

Drake’s ‘ICEMAN’ Spends Second Week at No. 1 on Billboard 200

Further down the chart, Michael Jackson’s Number Ones secures the No. 6 position, earning 60,000 equivalent album units with a negligible decrease of less than 1%. BTS’s former No. 1 album, ARIRANG, re-enters the top 10 at No. 9, garnering just over 41,000 units, a 1% decline. This sustained performance from established artists and enduring classics highlights the diverse tastes of music consumers and the long tail of album popularity.

LE SSERAFIM Makes a Strong Top 10 Debut

Adding a significant international presence to the upper echelons of the chart, K-Pop sensation LE SSERAFIM has achieved its fifth top 10 entry on the Billboard 200 with the debut of their latest album, PUREFLOW. The album lands at No. 10, earning 41,000 equivalent album units in its first week. This debut is particularly noteworthy for its strong performance in album sales, where PUREFLOW rockets to the No. 1 spot on the Top Album Sales chart.

Of PUREFLOW‘s 41,000 units, album sales account for a substantial 34,000. Streaming equivalent album units contributed 7,000 units, equating to 7.1 million on-demand official streams of the album’s tracks, while track equivalent album units comprise the remainder. The impressive first-week sales figures for PUREFLOW can be attributed in part to the strategic release of over 30 CD variants. Many of these editions included collectible items such as photocards, stickers, and posters, with some featuring randomized elements. This tactic is a common and effective strategy within the K-Pop industry to incentivize fans to purchase multiple versions of an album, thereby boosting sales figures and chart positions.

The inclusion of LE SSERAFIM in the top 10 signifies the growing global reach and impact of K-Pop on the U.S. music market. Their consistent ability to chart within the top tier of the Billboard 200 demonstrates a dedicated and expanding fanbase that actively supports their releases through various consumption methods. This trend indicates a broader shift in the music landscape, where international artists are increasingly finding substantial success in the American market, challenging traditional dominance.

Chart Methodology and Data Integrity

Luminate, the independent data provider for the Billboard charts, maintains a rigorous process to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the weekly rankings. The organization conducts a thorough review of all submitted data, meticulously examining and authenticating submissions. In collaboration with Billboard, any data identified as suspicious or unverifiable is systematically removed based on established criteria before the final chart calculations are finalized and published. This commitment to data accuracy is crucial for maintaining the credibility of the Billboard charts as a definitive measure of music consumption and popularity.

The Billboard 200’s methodology, which incorporates album sales, TEA, and SEA, provides a holistic view of album performance. This approach reflects the evolving ways in which music is consumed, moving beyond traditional album sales to encompass the widespread accessibility and engagement offered by digital streaming platforms. The consistent inclusion of a diverse range of artists and genres on the chart speaks to the breadth of musical tastes and the dynamic nature of the contemporary music industry. As artists continue to innovate in their release strategies and fan engagement, the Billboard 200 remains a critical barometer of their success and influence.
